Ella Townsend is Anointed, Appointed, and Commissioned by the Holy Spirit of the Lord to GO! … Feed His sheep with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor, she is sent to heal the brokenhearted, to minister a word of deliverance to those in bondage, to open blinded eyes spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, and to set those who are downtrodden and castdown free from those things that oppress them, proclaiming to everyone that this is the ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD FOR SALVATION!

 

Evangelist Townsend has never been ashamed to express or acknowledge her faith or beliefs in Christ as a Christian even as a child, and retained her deep and abiding love for the Lord during her many years as a night club singer traveling across America and parts of Asia with her own show band. In 1984, upon becoming spiritually aware and seeing the error of her ways, she recognized her need to return back to her Christian values and the Word of God by which she was raised, and believed in. She made a conscious departure from her worldly life-style, surrendering completely back to the Lord, and has not looked back on the past the world had offered. It was during her heart-searching and dealings with the Lord after being truly converted, that she made a commitment to service Him faithfully with all her heart, mind, soul, and spirit, combined with her divine encounters and experiences with the Lord in her personal and spiritual walk. She began to realize how God had prepared her through her worldly experiences for her future spiritual work in ministry in His Word.

 

In 1985, the missionary call to ministry was one of, and with divine purpose, to proclaim the Messiahship of Jesus Christ to His people and to the lost. God has opened many effectual doors for her in ministry with churches as a pianist, teacher of His Word, helping small churches with church organization, outreach ministries set-ups, Bible Study training, and fundraising projects. She can be found on the mission field in the community getting her hands dirty in the "Ministry of Helps";  during summer months, mowing lawns and painting houses; year round, working with the elderly, homeless in Street Ministry, working with poor and needy families and individuals in communities and churches across the United States wheresoever God sends her to help. This ministry work has unfolded parts of the divine revelation of the Command to "GO", that the Lord has given her under His anointing as a Spirit filled dynamic speakers and teacher and servant-leader ordained by God. She is highly respected and recognized in the church and community as a preacher, teacher and an Evangelist/Missionary, a true woman of God in the Word.

 

Evangelist Dr. Ella Townsend is the author of her first self-published book entitled, "Wait For The Promise Of the Father". She earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, a Masters in Biblical Studies, and a Doctor of Ministry/Pastoral Leadership. She was raised in Temple, Texas, and is the daughter of both the late Rev. E. D. and Caroline Townsend. She is the mother of two "grown and gone" sons, Louis and Eric, and proud grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, Katelyne and Evan.
